I grew up in Colorado, then studied at the University of Oregon in Eugene, where I earned my BFA in Visual Design in 1995. My wife Marcie and I moved to Portland in 2000, where taught I classes at the Art Institute of Portland and Pacific Northwest College of Art, and helped put on the Stumptown Comics Fest. In 2008 I taught a 3 day workshop on making comics in Singapore.
In 2012 we moved to Minneapolis. In 2014, we adopted our son Wyatt. I now spend a lot of time doing stay-at-home dad stuff, but still pursue freelancing and personal projects. Some of my favorite artsy types in no particular order are Moebius, China Mieville, Tilda Swinton, Rene Magritte, Skinny Puppy, Amy Schumer, Steven Colbert, Siouxsie Sioux, Carla Speed McNeil, Albrecht Durer, Nick Cave, Hiromu Arakawa and George Herriman. |
